COSHH Toolkit

The COSHH Toolkit brings together the documents you need to manage substances hazardous to health (COSHH) in one place. If your business uses chemicals, cleaning products, fuels or similar materials, it gives you a ready-made set of editable templates to assess, record and control them.

Alongside a selection of example COSHH assessments and a blank assessment form to complete your own, the toolkit includes registers, procedures, a policy, guidance, training talks and an audit checklist. Every file is editable and can be customised with your own company details, and the whole set downloads in a single archive folder (.zip) ready to start editing.

Built around COSHH and ISO 45001

Substances hazardous to health are covered by the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 2002 (COSHH), which require employers to assess the risks from those substances and put suitable controls in place. The toolkit gives you the documentation to do this in a consistent, auditable way, supporting the hazard identification and risk control requirements of ISO 45001.

Your COSHH duties

Under the COSHH Regulations 2002, employers need to:

  • Assess the risks from the hazardous substances used or produced
  • Decide what controls and PPE are needed
  • Put those controls in place and keep them working
  • Inform, instruct and train the people who use the substances
  • Review the assessments and keep them up to date

The toolkit gives you the documents to do each of these and keep the evidence in one place.

Who should use this toolkit?

The COSHH Toolkit suits any organisation that uses chemicals and needs to manage them responsibly, anyone wanting to be sure their COSHH documentation is complete, current and available, and businesses looking to put the right arrangements in place for legal compliance and to improve their existing paperwork.

Kept up to date

The toolkit is maintained and updated over time, and an alphaZ Subscription keeps you in ongoing access to the documents and any updates.
